A Study on the Work Stress of Middle and High School Students in Kyong-ju City


Abstract
This study was done to get the data abort the student¡¯s stress recognition degree and the factors influencing them.
The subjects were 4 Middle and High school students in Kyong ju City: The data were collected from December 12 to December 15, 1995. The results of the study are as follows
1. The average work stress of subjects were 3.189
Among the work stress factors : Entrance exam, future course, sexuality, economics, classmate relationship, intimacy with teachers were high level, hooligans around school, drinking, smoking, drug stuffs were low.
2. There were significant differences between general qualities such as attitude to parents,
classmate relationship, living with family or not, drinking, smoking.
3. To solve the stress, 57.3% of them have no adviser and 33.8% of them consult with their friends. As a result, the students¢¥ stress from entrance exam, many kinds of tests is too heavy and so should be solved quickly.
As their counselors are not their parents nor teachers but themselves or friends of their age. they have a difficulty in solving their stress.
It seems that teachers and parents should be interested more in their matter and the counseling activity of a nurse teacher have to be required.
